El propósito de este curso es brindar a los docentes la oportunidad de incorporar las TIC en proyectos educativos en la clase de inglés de Educación Secundaria a través de la utilización de una estrategia de enseñanza denominada WebQuest.

Purpose
This virtual course offers the opportunity of incorporating ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in educational projects in the English class at Secondary School through the use of the WebQuest as a teaching strategy.

General Objectives
•    Know about the educational use of the Web
•    Know about, design and publish a "WebQuest" suitable for each teacher educational context

Contents
Module 0: Introduction - Week 1
Module 1: New technologies - Week 2
Module 2: The WebQuest - Week 3
Module 3: Teaching a Foreign Language and the WebQuest - Week 4
Module 4: Elements of the WebQuest - Week 5
Module 5: Designing a WebQuest - Week 6

Skills
The course is taught entirely online, using the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) Moodle. You won’t need any prior experience or knowledge of online learning, although basic experience of email and Internet use would be helpful. Technical and pedagogical support is available for the entire duration of the course

Time Requirements
You will spend an average of 8 hours per week on the course through a combination of reading, interacting online with the tutor and partners, and completing assignments. Each module will be posted at the beginning of the week and must be completed by the end of the week.

Certification
A-virtual.net will issue participants with a Certificate on successful completion of the course. Successful completion of the course is defined as completing 80% of the course work, and completion of the final WebQuest design, to an acceptable standard.

Grades will be assigned based on the following weightings:
Weekly posting of at least 3 messages in the forum 20%
Module quizzes & tasks 20%
Weekly chat 10%
Completed WebQuest 50%
